Global First | SC Solar’s Electromagnetic Heating Multi-Layer Laminator Shipped Overseas

Recently, the Fully Automatic Electromagnetic Heating Multi-Layer Laminator independently developed by SC Solar completed final assembly and commissioning and has been successfully shipped overseas. This milestone marks a significant breakthrough in high-end lamination equipment and delivers a more competitive SC Solar solution to the global photovoltaic manufacturing industry.

The Fully Automatic Electromagnetic Heating Multi-Layer Laminator measures 25.5 meters in length, 4 meters in width, and 4.15 meters in height. The product took three years from research and development to final completion. It features eight vacuum chambers and integrates a feeding control system, lamination control system, and unloading control system. By incorporating a chain-type circulating conveying system, a photoelectric positioning system, and a PLC-based control system, and by adopting electromagnetic heating combined with a three-stage pressurization process, the equipment enables fully automated and continuous production across module feeding, lamination, and unloading. The technology represents a global first in the industry. Its technological achievements have been recognized as “Internationally Advanced” and it has been awarded the title of the first major (set) equipment in key fields in Hebei Province, with inclusion in the official catalog.

Laminators are the core equipment in photovoltaic module manufacturing. Traditional laminators typically rely on thermal oil or resistance wire heating, which present challenges such as high energy consumption, slow temperature ramp-up, uneven temperature distribution, and complex maintenance. These limitations make it difficult to meet the evolving demands of next-generation high-efficiency, low-carbon, and precision manufacturing.

The Fully Automatic Electromagnetic Heating Multi-Layer Laminator shipped overseas this time overcomes key technical barriers including electromagnetic induction heating, synchronized multi-layer temperature control, and a three-dimensional stacked structural design. It achieves dual innovation in both heating methodology and production mode.

SC Solar’s electromagnetic heating laminator holds fully independent intellectual property rights, with related technologies authorized by national invention patents. The product effectively eliminates issues such as localized overheating and significant interlayer temperature differences found in conventional lamination processes. Featuring an eight-layer stacked three-dimensional structure, the equipment reduces floor space by 50% compared with traditional laminators, increases production capacity by 33%, lowers energy costs by approximately 32%, and improves energy efficiency per unit area output by about 60%—combining efficiency, energy saving, and compact design advantages.

Currently, SC Solar’s fully automatic electromagnetic heating laminators have been deployed at multiple customer sites in Shanghai, Hefei, and Jinan. This overseas shipment marks the first time that China’s high-end lamination equipment has entered the international market under the distinction of a “global first.”

Looking ahead, SC Solar will continue to bring its proven manufacturing expertise to the global stage, providing replicable and practical solutions for the new energy industry and making photovoltaic manufacturing easier worldwide.
