SC Solar’s Perovskite Turnkey Line Heads to Europe

Recently, SC Solar successfully shipped a 300 mm × 300 mm perovskite high-efficiency cell turnkey production line to Europe, providing comprehensive equipment support for the customer’s perovskite R&D platform.

Designed around R&D and process validation needs, the solution combines SC Solar’s capabilities in turnkey line integration, modular equipment configuration, and integrated equipment-and-process services. It enables customers to build a complete and scalable R&D platform for material screening, device development, and small-batch sample production.

Integrated Turnkey Line for a Complete R&D Platform

SC Solar’s 300 mm × 300 mm perovskite high-efficiency cell manufacturing solution covers the main processes from material preparation and substrate cleaning to functional layer deposition, coating and crystallization, laser scribing, electrode preparation, and module encapsulation.

The line integrates key equipment including PVD vacuum coating, Spatial Atomic Layer Deposition (SALD), and vacuum evaporation systems. Through the coordinated integration of equipment, processes, and laboratory environments, it provides customers with a complete R&D and validation platform from raw materials to finished samples.

The platform supports material screening, process parameter optimization, device structure development, and repeatability validation. With a capacity of approximately 50 samples per day, it is suitable for small-batch sample preparation. Semi-automated operation also helps reduce manual intervention and process variation, improving experimental efficiency and process repeatability.

Flexible and Scalable for Future Technology Development

As device structures and process routes continue to evolve, scalability has become increasingly important for R&D platforms.

SC Solar’s solution features a modular and compatible design, supporting R&D of 300 mm × 300 mm glass-based single-junction perovskite cells, while also allowing expansion to wafer-based perovskite/silicon two-terminal and four-terminal tandem cells.

By replacing carriers, adjusting process modules, or adding functional units, customers can expand the platform based on evolving R&D requirements. This flexibility reduces the need for repeated equipment investment and helps lower future upgrade costs.

Turnkey Delivery for Efficient Platform Deployment

SC Solar provides comprehensive turnkey services covering line planning, equipment design and manufacturing, delivery, installation and commissioning, process implementation, and personnel training. The package also includes a Bill of Materials (BOM), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and baseline process recipes, helping customers establish their R&D and validation capabilities more efficiently.

The complete line is designed to meet European market requirements and has obtained CE certification. It also adopts a minimized low-humidity and high-cleanliness area design, concentrating environmental control on critical process zones to reduce construction and maintenance costs while meeting experimental requirements.

SC Solar currently offers perovskite high-efficiency cell manufacturing solutions in multiple formats, including 300 mm × 300 mm, 600 mm × 1200 mm, and 1200 mm × 2400 mm, as well as perovskite tandem cell pilot lines and automated perovskite module encapsulation lines. These solutions provide systematic equipment support from laboratory R&D and pilot validation through to mass production.

Looking ahead, SC Solar will continue to advance equipment and process technologies for perovskite and tandem photovoltaics, supporting diverse technology routes and development stages. Through continuous innovation in key equipment and turnkey process integration, SC Solar aims to help customers improve R&D efficiency, expand manufacturing capabilities, and accelerate the development and commercialization of next-generation PV technologies.
